Discipleship Without Walls: How Weekly Youth Meetings Continue Without a Dedicated Facility

A dedicated building makes ministry easier to plan and easier to find. It is not, however, what makes discipleship possible. Since March 2025, our team in Dasmariñas, Cavite has held weekly youth meetings in a home setting while continuing to look for a permanent facility, and the discipleship work has continued throughout.

Our May 2025 update, Please Pray for Covenant International Ministries, described this directly: youth meetings continuing weekly in a home, with the team being patient while a facility is still needed. Our March 2025 update, Youth Meetings at Dasmarinas Cavite, described the same ongoing commitment.

What a home meeting looks like in practice

A home setting changes the logistics of a gathering but not its purpose. Space is often smaller, so groups tend to be more conversational than lecture-style. Leaders know the young people present by name, and follow-up conversations happen naturally because the setting is informal rather than scheduled around a facility's availability.

The discipline behind consistency

Meeting in a home requires a level of hospitality and flexibility that a dedicated space does not. Families open their homes weekly, work around each other's schedules, and continue the commitment even without the convenience a facility would offer. This kind of steady presence is itself a form of discipleship, modeling patience and follow-through for the young people watching.

Invest in the people, not only the space

Paul instructs Timothy to entrust what he has learned to reliable people who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2). We understand this as a reminder that discipleship depends first on committed people, and a facility — while helpful — supports that work rather than replacing it.
